Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney

Meh…

Day by day, more and more conservatives are coming to the realization that Ronald Reagan is not going to be walking through the door anytime soon.   The simple fact of the matter is that we are not going to get a conservative candidate for president in 2012.  So rather than spending so much time fighting over which one of the remaining candidates is the “true conservative,” we’d be better off helping a new crop of Republican leaders rise up and take over.

“Here’s the bottom line.  I have no dog in this fight.  My candidates either didn’t run or imploded on impact.  I’m not comfortable with Romney’s apparent weaknesses, and despite his ability to articulate conservatism my gut tells me that a Gingrich nomination and subsequent Presidency would end in heartache as well.  But the main point is this, neither one of these men, whether they’re really conservative or not, whether they’re a rino, liberal, progressive, or just opportunistic, is Barack Hussein Obama.  And that’s enough for me.”

As for those who think the two unmentioned might still have a shot, don’t fool yourselves.  Ron Paul has already given up on occupying the White House.  He’s remaining in the race in order to influence the convention.  And Rick Santorum’s role in this race is that of Bruce Willis in ‘The Sixth Sense.’  He’s already dead, he just doesn’t know it.

We believe Santorum is very “alive” and in the Fight to revive and preserve the truths our nation was founded on ! The concern is : Are we the people “alive” and in the fight to revive and preserve our heritage ??? How many even know what our nation was founded
on and why ? A good way to start “knowing” is to view the webinars at Hillsdale College , and the vast resources of ISI.org .
We owe it to ourselves and our posterity to be “knowledgeable ” and active . To remain passive is to be part of the decay and resulting calamity . We need to know our History!

I grew up in Rick Santorum’s congressional district. He was also my senator for 12 years. I know exactly who Rick Santorum is, what he stands for and what he has done in his political career. Although Rick Santorum a very dedicated, loyal Republican, his actions have proven him to be less than a true conservative. The same goes for Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. Fighting over the degree to which the candidates are more or less mainstream Republicans is pointless. (Ron Paul was not included in this discussion because he is a Libertarian, not a Conservative.)
