Gallup Poll:

Although Mitt Romney has been the GOP frontrunner for quite some time now,

He is certainly not running away with the Republican presidential nomination.

Polls shows the race to be a tight one between Romney, Rick Perry and Sarah Palin.

Mitt Romney is the leader for the GOP nomination among the current field of official candidates, supported by 27% of Republicans, compared with 18% for Michele Bachmann. However, Rick Perry would essentially tie Romney, with Sarah Palin and Rudy Giuliani close behind, in a scenario in which all three of these undecided candidates entered the race.

Gallup:

  1. Mitt Romney – 17%
  2. Rick Perry – 15%
  3. Sarah Palin – 12%
  4. Michele Bachmann – 11%
  5. Rudy Giuliani – 11%

Interestingly, when Palin and Giuliani are removed from the poll,

Romney surges to 23%,

While Perry ticks up slightly to 18%.

Which again hints that the race is Romney versus the field.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. - Ephesians 6: 12-13
