DOMA.

Newt Gingrich believes the President has started a coup.

By deciding not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act,

President Obama has abdicated his responsibilities as President of the United States,

While assuming powers that are Constitutionally assigned to the Supreme Court.

“The President is replacing the rule of law with the rule of Obama.  The President swore an oath on the Bible to ensure that the laws be faithfully executed, not to decide which laws are and which are not constitutional.”

The Oath of office of the President of the United States is not that hard to find,

Article Two, Section One, Clause Eight of the United States Constitution.

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Which probably explains why President Obama does not know it.

But that’s not the point.

It is not the President’s job to decide which laws are Constitutional,

And which laws are not,

But rather to execute and enforce the laws passed by Congress.
