‘Recovery Summer’ Reality Check

“Recovery Summer.”
President Obama once again reminded the American people that he does not make mistakes.
One of the few questions he answered came from a reporter who asked whether he regretted branding the past several weeks as “Recovery Summer.”
“I don’t regret the notion that we are moving forward because of the steps that we’ve taken.”
A very political and polarizing response to an issue that has affected nearly every American in one way or another.
Things have gotten so bad that Melissa Clouthier suggested that White House might consider canceling Labor Day this year.
“In other news, Labor Day has been canceled since nobody has a job.”
During today’s Rose Garden address, the President continued his claim that better days are just around the corner.
“There are better days ahead… We are moving in the right direction. We just have to speed it up.”
Unfortunately for President Obama and his fellow Democrats, very few voters agree with his assessment.
For the second straight week, 29% of Likely Voters say the country is heading in the right direction.
And the economic numbers do not support the President’s optimism.
“The Jobless Rate is expected to continue to grow over the next few months, possibly reaching 10.0% again by the end of the year.”
It is time for the President to deal with reality.
America is not vacationing her way through “Recovery Summer“.
If the President does not get on the ball, and quick, it may be quite a long time before our economy shows any signs of real recovery at all.
