"Miss Lindsay" Graham is Not Gay and Not a Fan of the Tea Party

Lindsay Graham has heard the rumors for years.  54, single, never married.

He must be gay.

Back in April, William Gheen, head of the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), spoke at a Greenville, South Carolina Tea Party rally and called for Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to “come out of that log cabin closet.”

“US Senator Lindsey Graham is gay and while many people in South Carolina and Washington DC know that, the general public and Graham’s constituents do not.”

In an interview with the New York Times, Graham answered those allegations;

“I know it’s really gonna upset a lot of gay men — I’m sure hundreds of ’em are gonna be jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge — but I ain’t available. I ain’t gay. Sorry.”

It is expected that the gay community will survive.

The issue, though,  does bring up a constant source of conflict for the Senator; the Tea Party.  While many Republicans have gone out of their way to embrace the tea Party, especially in a conservative state like South Carolina, Graham has chosen to go the other way;

“Everything I’m doing now in terms of talking about climate, talking about immigration, talking about Gitmo is completely opposite of where the Tea Party movement’s at,”

“The problem with the Tea Party, I think it’s just unsustainable because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the country. It will die out.”

Graham takes it a step further, claiming that today’s Tea Party is so Conservative, so far right, that even Reagan would not fit in with them;

“We don’t have a lot of Reagan-type leaders in our party. Remember Ronald Reagan Democrats? I want a Republican that can attract Democrats.  Ronald Reagan would have a hard time getting elected as a Republican today.”

Glenn Beck refers to Graham as Obama Lite, Rush Limbaugh likes to call him Lindsay Grahmnesty while the conservative blogosphere has taken to calling him “Miss Lindsay”, among other family-unfriendly terms that we will not mention in this post.

Those who study history, or who were around to remember the 1980′s, will know that Ronald Reagan was for lower taxes and less regulation, especially when it came to small businesses; Graham on the other hand crosses the isle to support Obama policy such as amnesty and cap and trade.

Today’s Tea Party would treat Ronald Reagan like a king.

Unfortunately, it seems as if Graham is self-servingly miss-remembering Regan’s legacy to justify his RINO proclivities.

To settle the issue in your own mind just consider that John McCain is his closest friend in the Senate.  Enough Said.

Either way, Graham does not like the Tea Party and the Tea Party does not like Graham.

As far as Reagan, everything about his policy and life would suggest that if he were alive today, he’d be flying his own Gadsden Flag.
